Herbs For the Treatment of Cancer
The treatment of cancer with herbs is a very broad subject, and often requires much time and research. In this article I want to touch on just a few of these, since there are so many of them.
The first is Astragalus. This herb helps to normalize immune function, tones the liver and is also useful for exhaustion. It increases the number of cancer fighting cells in the body, allowing the body to heal faster after chemotherapy and radiation, and increases patient life expectancy post treatment.
Another herb that is showing much promise is Cat’s Claw. This vine comes from the Amazon rain forest and has been shown to increase the function of the immune system against bacteria viruses and cancer cells, and it may also decrease the spread of cancer, but further research is still needed to verify this, as little is known about the Amazon or it’s indigenous tribes and their herbal treatments.
Celandine is a very traditional cancer herb and is used in anti cancer drug called Ukrain. This drug promotes good immune system responses as well as both the destruction and shrinkage of active cancer cells in the body. Celandine can be found in the United States; however Ukrain is not as it has not been approved by the FDA.
One of the most powerful herbs for fighting cancer is Chaparral. This powerful herb has cured many cancers and shrank tumors in the clinical setting; however, the scientific and pharmaceutical communities still regard Chaparral as controversial. Chaparral is also effective against parasites bacteria and viruses; it is also useful in colds, flu, acne eczema and many other conditions.
Believe it or not one of the most readily available anti-cancer herbs is found in just about every supermarket in America. Garlic has been shown to be an effective cancer preventive, in doses as small as one ounce per week. It is useful in preventing damage to DNA and neutralizes carcinogens, and has been shown useful in the treatment of colon, stomach, prostate, breast, liver, brain, lung, and esophagus cancers. It reduces tumor growth as well as reducing side effects from cancer treatment and protects the liver from damage, and it is also helpful with the cellular damage from radiation treatment.
Green tea is a powerful anti-oxidant that has long been known to be beneficial in cancer treatment. While it has been used as a cancer preventative it also inhibits the spread of cancer. It helps to enhance the effects of chemotherapy while decreasing the side effects. It has been found to be especially useful in treating colon and rectal cancers.
In closing, it should be emphasized that before trying any kind of herbal remedy or at home treatment for cancer or any disease you should always seek the advice of a medical doctor or licensed herbalist. This is for the patient’s own safety, it is also best to make sure there are absolutely no contra-indicators present and that the patient doesn’t have any allergies to any of the herbs that they wish to use. Always do your homework, good research while time consuming is absolutely vital to ensuring safety and successful treatment of a variety of different kinds of cancer.

Dr. Ernest Cohn, MD: "This book is by far the most complete and accurate review of alternative therapies I’ve seen in the 30+ years of my practice. I recommend our patients read this book now before we accept them for care here. It can save a patient’s life."
Dr.Pavel Yakovlev, MD: "The material in this book is enriching and hope-giving for clinical practice. I like the way you finish your book, with a notion of spiritual cancer, which is very important to remember when dealing with the patient."
Dr. Rashid Buttar: "I plan on recommending it to all my patients suffering from cancer who seek treatment at our clinic so that the light of truth and hope contained within this book can shine brightly on them as well."
