Is Aloe Vera Effective in Cancer Cure?
Aloe Vera has been in use since ancient times for healing infections and burns due to its softening properties. Indigenous to West Africa, it is cultivated all over the world for its medicinal usefulness. Recently, research shows that Aloe Vera can also be used for cancer cure as alternative treatment.
Aloe Vera comes from an Arabic word ‘alloeh’, which means bitter. It is also known as the medicinal aloe, is a species of succulent plant that grows in arid climates. It is widely distributed in Africa and other arid areas.
As it is soothing herbal medicine, some cancer patients use Aloe Vera to heal and soothe the skin which have been burn caused by radiotherapy treatment. It also gives a soothing effect in the patients of skin cancer.
In addition to treatment of skin diseases, various research studies indicate that Aloe Vera is a general tonic for the immune system and useful to treat various diseases.
Researchers from Okinawa, Japan reported in the Japanese Journal of Cancer Research, that Aloe contained at least three anti-tumor agents, emodin, mannose, and lectin. Lectins and emodines are acts as tumor resistant chemicals which make Aloe Vera able to slow down the growth of cancerous tumors.
The researchers concluded that Aloe controls pulmonary carcinogenesis and is effective in the treatment of sarcoma and that it would prevent the development of tumors.
Aloe vera is a great detoxifier. It has been demonstrated to enhance the immune system’s response to cancer, promote the growth of new and healthy cells, and reduce the overall viral load within the body thereby revitalizing the body for cancer cure.
When radiation and chemotherapy are used, Aloe Vera helps to minimize the damage done to the body by these treatments, which destroy healthy cells – particularly immune system cells – crucial to the body’s recovery.
Aloe Vera is not always used in its direct form. For the purpose of healing, it’s used both internally and externally. Therefore, various forms available in the market, such as Aloe Vera gel, capsules, creams and drinks.
Aloe Vera cancer cure, though clinically tested, has a drawback that not all people can withstand its chemicals. There are reports of quite serious side effects. Taken internally it has been shown to cause stomach pain, diarrhoea, nausea, blood clotting and thyroid problems. Thus always check with your doctor before you start using Aloe Vera as alternative cancer treatment.
